Rage to play free gig if they reach number one

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE have said they will play a free gig if they get the UK Christmas number one this evening.

The American rockers are going head to head with X Factor winner Joe McElderry for the coveted position.

Rage's guitarist Tom Morello described the campaign to keep McElderry's debut single 'The Climb' off the top spot as a "grassroots revolt".
And he said the band would ask X Factor producer and judge Simon Cowell to host the free gig.

He said: "Spread the word! Knock on doors! Host downloading parties! Knock over ladies buying X-Factor! The clock is ticking. And if 'Killing in the Name' is number one we are coming. And it will be the victory party to end all victory parties."
